Bursts of Light

This summer 2012, join with our Crosspoint community as we show glocal love to our city and world. Below you will find a description of many of the projects and events we will be hosting.

To stay informed about our summer Bursts of Light, please visit the Plaza.

Super Novas

Canada Day Festival: For three days (June 30–July 2) we will host this exciting event in the fields behind Londonderry school. We will be partnering with Fusion Canada, other churches and agencies to get the community connected. We need volunteers to join us in helping Christ shine in northeast Edmonton. For volunteer registration information, please click here.

Change from the Heart: Starting in June we will begin to collect change for this year’s special Glocal project. We want to change the lives of Cambodian boys who are being sexually exploited. Like last year, this project will culminate in a party and picnic on September 16 from 5 to 7 pm. Invite your friends and neighbours to change the lives of sexually exploited Cambodian boys. Grab a fundraising kit during one of our Sunday gatherings. Click here for more information.

Kids Kapers: Coming this July 16-20, our first-ever kids camp in the northeast community. You can grab a registration form from us or visit kidskapersedmonton.ca to download a copy.

Bright Spots

Prayer Walk: Every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 9:00 am we will walk the streets of Kilkenny to pray for the community. Meet in the Londonderry School parking lot.

Adopt-A-Block: Partnering with the City of Edmonton, we will help make the Kilkenny area a beautiful, clean place for everyone to enjoy. For more information contact Andrew Dence on the City.

Playing in the Park: You don’t need a big event to connect in the community. Sometimes it’s as easy as starting a game of kickball or basketball—or busting out the sidewalk chalk. Some of us will be starting some random fun events in the neighbourhood. These will be posted on the City Plaza. You can start something too.

Movie in the Park: We will be hosting a free movie on Friday, August 31. What a great way to end the summer and connect families together in northeast Edmonton. Everyone is welcome to attend.  Details will be posted on the City Plaza.

RIDE 2012 Rally: RIDE 2012 will be coming through our area and we invite you to celebrate on July 10. There will be a Pig Roast at St. Albert Alliance Church. Tickets $25.00.  For more information about the RIDE 2012, click here.
